A fire-resistive rating is the time that exterior wall construction can withstand fire exposure as determined by a standard fire test. Our Fire-Rated products are manufactured to meet the latest standards and are fully tested before installation.

Our main Fire-Rated products are the HT (2 hour fire-rating), HT+ (4 hour fire-rating) and PS (4 hour pressurized) systems. We are able to provide other fire-rated solutions as necessary but usually find that these products offer the best solution for most projects.

High Temperature – HT 2 Hour Fire Rated

The 2 Hour Fire Rated HT system is manufactured with a 316 grade stainless steel inner, 25mm of rockwool insulation finished with a 304 grade stainless steel outer liner. The maximum flue gas temperature is up to 740°c. This system is suitable for all fuels and is fully tested for stability and integrity for two hours.

High Temperature Plus – HT+ 4 Hour Fire Rated

The 4 Hour Fire Rated HT+ system is a class 1 chimney system fabricated to BS EN 1856-1:2003 and manufactured using a 0.51mm thick grade 316 stainless steel fully-welded inner liner and a 0.51mm thick grade 304 stainless steel outer casing. It has been BSRIA tested and complies fully with BS 4543 parts 2 & 3:1990. It holds a four hour fire rated certification BS 476-3:2004 tested for stability and integrity.

The HT and HT+ flue systems can be powder coated externally to match the aesthetics of any building project. Any colours from the RAL or BS ranges can be used.

Pressurised System – PS ‘V’ band 4 Hour Fire Rated

The Midtherm PS Pressurised System range is a prefabricated single or twin wall insulated flue system with a fully-welded liner suitable for transmitting flue gases, fumes and process exhaust of pressures up to 1700mm wg (HD/PS flanged system is available for higher pressures).

The inner liner is 1mm thick 304 stainless steel (also available with 316 grade stainless steel and either grade in 0.7mm thick material) and an outer casing of 0.7mm thick aluminized steel (also available with 304 BA, 316 2b, 430 BA grade stainless steel or embossed (stucco) aluminium). The standard product has a 25mm air gap, however this product can be supplied with 25mm, 50mm, 75mm, 100mm or 150mm of high density mineral wool insulation on request.

PS Product Testing and Designation

PS was type tested to the specific requirements of BS EN 1856-1:2003 and the general requirements of BS EN 1443:2003 and complies with the relevant clauses. It also complies with BS 4543, parts 2 & 3:1990 and holds a four hour fire rated certification BS 476-3:2004 for stability and integrity.
