Flues, Masts & Chimneys »
Our design engineers are capable of delivering design and technical information based on a wide and varying range of commercial applications. As a result of this solid technical background, our sales team have consistently achieved success in securing major projects from dilution systems to free-standing chimney applications for commercial premises, hospitals, schools and other local authority institutions.
What makes us unique is our understanding of good client and company relationships, our focus on the needs and requirements of project participants and the transfer of this knowledge to the design process. This approach has enabled our design team to complete complicated projects that meet all stipulated technical criteria.
As most engineers learn from the early stages of any project they are working on, good technical data and design is critical in achieving good boiler efficiencies. It is this attention to detail that explains why we at Midtherm Engineering offer a quality service from the key design stages to the full installation of the product.
Our Products & Services:
A flue dilution system is normally installed where difficulties are encountered in the provision of a conventional flue, or indeed where savings can be made if the only other alternative is a high rise chimney. The system is only for use with VLS (very low sulphur) fuel appliances.
Our Fluevent System is a packaged alternative to a conventional flue dilution system. The system offers several advantages including lower noise level, reduced size of the duct/flue in the boiler house, reduced energy costs and easy installation, maintenance and inspection.
We provide a range of Fire Rated products inclduing the High Temperature 4 Hour Fire Rated System (HT+), High Temperature 2 Hour Fire Rated System (HT) and Pressurised System (PS). All systems hold the relevant fabrication and fire rated certifications and are tested for stability and integrity to meet current standards.
The HT and HT+ flue systems can be powder coated externally to match the aesthetics of any building project.
The Combivent balanced flue terminal works by the process of convection. It is designed to allow the discharge of flue gases through a roof-mounted unit whilst simultaneously drawing in fresh air through external louvres to ventilate the boiler room below. The unit is able to provide high or low level ventilation requirements in accordance with BS 6644:2005+A1:2008.
The Combivent terminal is also an effective, economical and aesthetic solution where conventional ventilation requirements prove difficult to achieve.
The Midtec Mast system is designed and fabricated to comply with all associated regulations and is aesthetically pleasing from an architectural point of view. It adds a feature aspect to any building design and as a free-standing application, requires no building supports.
We adhere to all guidance and regulations associated with mast systems, including BS 8100-3:1999 for lattice towers and masts, code of practice for loading and BS 6399-2:1997 code of practice for wind loads.
If you require a flue system on a larger scale, we are experts in mast-supported and free-standing chimney installations. All our chimneys are manufactured to BS 4076:1989 and the corresponding international codes. Vibration dampers and duct silencers (noise absorbers) can be fitted as required.
All on-site installation teams hold a minimum of CSCS cards, Scaffold Towers, Height Awareness & Harness appreciation, PASMA and Asbestos Awareness training.
Our CCTV inspection system utilises the latest TS202 high definition CCD colour camera providing a highly detailed inspection method. This will give you a complete assessment of the chimney condition and is ideal for troubleshooting inspections and surveys.
A compact disc and written report are provided after the survey, detailing our findings and recommendations for any remedial work.
