Windvent VL offers incredible cost savings to the commercial sector from not using conventional power sources. They are widely employed in, and suitable for, hospitals, schools, universities, retail outlets, offices, factories, underground carparks, showrooms and many other applications.

The Windvent VL uses Solatube® litepipe technology which is available in three sizes: 530mm, 355mm and 250mm.

Large Commercial Applications

The 530mm (21") diameter Solatube® commercial natural lighting system caters for more expansive areas that require a higher level of lighting without the structural problems faced by the industrial unit. A patented transition box converts the 21" internal tubing to a 24" diffuser. This allows for easy installation into suspended ceiling as well as hard ceiling applications. The system allows for the option of three types of ceiling diffuser that include prismatic, frosted or an optiview diffuser arrangement. The system can also be supplemented by a low energy daylight dimmer kit (at additional cost).

The 530mm diameter Litepipe offers an effective lighting area of up to 37m² (400ft²) and is the industry's first tubular skylight specifically designed to fit into any existing or specified suspended ceiling grid using our patented round-to-square transition box and square diffuser panel.

Medium Commercial Applications

The 355mm (14") diameter system is typically suitable for commercial areas such as kitchens, medium-sized classrooms, study areas, libraries, small conference rooms, offices and landings and is capable of lighting areas in multiples, thus also providing architectural lighting effects within the space. Diffuser options include flush frosted, curved prismatic and optiview. Applications where they are commonly used include hospitals, schools, academies, offices and nurseries.

The 355mm diameter Solatube® has an effective lighting area of up to 22m² (250ft²) and an optional integral electric light kit is also available.

Small Commercial Applications

The 250mm diameter Solatube® is our most compact tubular skylight with an effective lighting area of up to 13m² (150ft²). Accessories include an integral electric light kit for WC and shower room ventilation systems. The 250mm sized unit is suitable for corridors, shower rooms, small offices, changing rooms, store rooms and toilets.

Installation

The roof fabric of commercial applications has bearing on the openings and roof plates that are required to install the systems competently. We offer a roof plate solution for all situations, including self mount flashings and curb mount flashings with suitable upstands. The options for each project will be discussed at the design stage in detail, including the necessary openings that are required to suit our systems.
