Crossvent diagramOur Crossvent damper units can be used in conjunction with the Windvent passive stack ventilation terminals as part of a whole building cross ventilation strategy or to minimize the amount of terminals required.

Crossvent units also work very well behind wall mounted radiators in the winter months to entrain warm 'fresh' air into the building space in close conjunction with room mounted temperature sensors and common heating relays.

The damper actuators are accessible via the internal 15 degree 'quick clip' linear bar grille and access to the external terminals is not required. The damper ductwork is fitted with 'o' type acoustic insulation and a drop of 3-4dB may be achieved in comparison to the dB of openable windows.

The Crossvent damper unit itself is fully sealed to the edges and on the blades at 98.7% closure and comes fitted with a jack-shaft arrangement to ensure the unit is easily accessible for maintenance purposes. Our preferred choice of actuator is the 24v Siemens GDB type (we have installed hundreds of these actuators over the years with no reported problems).

Our Crossvent units are bespoke CAD drawn and built to fit within the required building wall space, and are delivered as pre-assembled complete units. They can be installed either by Midtherm Engineering Ltd (a separate cost can be quoted) or just as easily by your own building contractor.

Crossvent diagramAll that is visible to the naked eye is the all-weather louvre (powder coated to your spec) and a 15 degree 'quick clip' linear bar grill (white as standard but can be any BS colour) on the internal side.

The units are sized according to the ventilation rates required for each room/ building application and the air volume flow rates required.

The diagram to the left shows how Crossvent units are designed to be used as part of a wider Cross-Ventilation strategy within any building environment.
